The use of information technology increases the quality of the development of modern society, automation and business management, economics and finance. Therefore, graduates of the speciality "Information technology of planning" (ITP) have a wide selection of jobs in enterprises of all forms of ownership.

CIT Department has the highest 4th level of accreditation preparing a high-class specialists in the field of ITP for over 20 years. License field is 80 people. Education in the specialty of ITP is realized to form graduate skills of formulating and solving problems of information in different spheres of human activity, development of corporate computer systems, decision support systems, and the creation of CAD in mechanical engineering.

The department graduates are in demand:

  • at firms engaged in software development and Internet applications
  • in offices of Prominvestbank, First Ukrainian International Bank, Ukrsotsbank, the Tax Administration;
  • at the enterprises of Ukraine, "Aviant" (Kiev), HTZ, Plant named by Malyshev (Kharkov), "Stirol" (Gorlovka), Non-ferrous metals plant (Donetsk), "Betonmash" (Slavyansk), "Vesco" (Druzhkovka), "NKMZ", "KZTS" (Kramatorsk);

The educational process is carried out by a qualified team of teachers, among them doctors and candidates of sciences, professors and associate professors.

On the basis of JSC "NKMZ" and "EMSS" branches of the Department are created for students’ technological and undergraduate engineering practice.

Preparation is conducted on full-time and correspondence forms, at the request students of the third year of ITP can learn on the speciality "Economy of Industry" and get a second diploma simultaneously with the main one.

At the department magistracy and post-graduate study work. Students conduct their scientific work in the student scientific society, learn to use new software products, to develop applications for Internet, mobile communications, build and operate LAN, use the telecommunications network for distance learning.

Automated engineering processes control is impossible without computers and microtechnology. Practically all modern machinery, devices, machines and production complexes are equipped with these systems. They are used in household, medical, car, agricultural, engineering, metallurgical, financial, banking, informational and managerial human activity.

A distinctive feature of the specialist consists in his/her ability to solve a wide circle of problems in development and maintenance of electronic and computer engineering, instruments, electric apparatuses, analog and digital control systems, electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drives.

Specialist in automated control can work at the enterprises, organizations and companies where computer and microprocessor systems for automated control are used. He/she can capture and process information and work as a researcher or a teacher at higher educational establishments.

A graduate can fill the following positions:

  • operation and maintenance engineer for automated control;
  • development engineer for automatic control systems;
  • research engineer for automated control systems (АСS);
  • electronic engineer in installation, adjustment and maintenance of shop-floor programming software;
  • part-programming engineer in applied software engineering.


Activity of the specialist in automated control is interesting and many-sited. But it requires great erudition and professional knowledge in mathematics, physics, mechanics, informatics and computing, programming systems, artificial intelligence and connectionist technologies, electrotechnology, microtechnology, control theory, work safety and economics.

Specialty curriculum is full of subjects for design and application of microprocessor-based software, PC and local computer networks programming and administrating, electronics and microcircuitry, automated control systems and information processing, and also hydraulic, pneumatic and electric drives.

The students are not only trained for PC operating, what meets the part-programming engineer requirements, but they acquire abilities and skills to construct and maintain special systems intended for specific control problems, computer networks administration and control systems modeling.

It is the ability to use microprocessor-based computing in engineering process control that is the value of ACS specialist. Labor-market requires clever and peculiar thinking engineers. They must be able to take into account all peculiarities of human-computer, program-hardware and electronics-mechanics interactions.

Acquired knowledge enables to see the world in a quite different light and be sure that you are a Man of the Future with interesting, creative and called-for profession.


Production functions, that the specialist in automated control executes, are very extensive – from the development of automation systems and making software to the control processes modeling and researching and development of new control systems consisting in following:

  • microprocessor units of automated control development;
  • analog and digital systems of automated control design using the modern automation;
  • simulation of engineering processes and objects, automatic control systems, electronic and relay contactor circuits;
  • parameters identification and electric and hydraulic drives adjustment;
  • maintenance of instrumentation, automatic devices, numerical control, electronic and hydraulic systems;
  • PC calculation of any complexity, development of documentation, schemes and diagrams using modern software application;
  • computers and internal connection lines service;
  • computer network administration;
  • software application development;
  • software development for ACS functioning.


The department was founded September 1, 1973. It obtained the 4th accreditation level. The high-quality training of specialists is ensured by the teachers of the highest proficiency level with scientific degrees and teachers finishing dissertations. The teachers train students in more than 50 subjects. Practical training at the enterprises is organized. Diploma thesis supervision is carried out. Problems of graduates’ job placement are successfully solved.

The department has got two computer classrooms, specialized laboratories of computer-integrated control systems, electronics and microtechnology, automatic electric drive and hydro-pneumatic drive. Classrooms and laboratories are provided with the most modern equipment: stands for electronic circuits and automated control systems researching; stands for researching automatic electric drive systems; computer-integrated multifunctional information-measuring systems “ISTOK-TM” and relevant software SPC “Spetssystems” (Byelorussia), special programmable logic controllers and programming aids for automated accounting of energy resources by Kiev company “Rostock-Sparks”, hardware and software for AWP – computer-integrated position control systems of numerical control for 8 workplaces by Austrian company “B&R”, educational stands of electropneumatic and hydroautomatic devices with computer-integrated control, and software by German company “Festo”, electric drives with frequency steering of the firm “ABB” (Sweden) and “Lenze” (Germany) controlled by PC. Companies give the department the right to get information about their products through Internet.

Specialists in “Automated engineering processes control” are trained not only in close cooperation between the department and regional enterprises, but leading European manufacturers of automation devices – SIEMENS (Germany), B&R (Austria), FESTO (Germany), “Spetssystems” (Byelorussia), VIPA (Germany), Moscow works of thermal automatic devices, TEKON (Russia), “Lenze” (Germany). Training center in automation and computer-integrated technologies is organized with the direct assistance of these companies. Training center is provided with stands by FESTO, microprocessor systems of utilities accounting, microprocessor control systems by B&R (Austria). A training ground, which is equipped with the most modern control systems by SIEMENS, is created in the branch of the department – engineering center “NKMZ-Automation”. It makes possible to train specialists according to the European standards.

What is the Electric Drive

The modern electric drive represents the complex electromechanical and cybernetic system including electric motors, power supply systems, automatic control systems.

The electric drive surrounds the modern person from the electrified children's toys to the hi-tech flying machines and space stations where the most kinds of movements are performed by its help.

Even in our apartment we are surrounded by the electrified devices (the refrigerator, the washing machine, the computer, the microwave oven, the shaver, the tape recorder).

Prospects of development of the electric drive are defined by necessity of production process automation at any enterprise.

Electrification of all industries by motorization is started in the twentieth century’s beginning. Development of industrial activity puts before the engineers new problems permanently, everyone subsequent of which is more interesting than previous one.

Electrician Engineer

The electrician engineer is a technician who can solve the problems of production process automation.

Graduates of the department work at such enterprises of the region and Ukraine, as: NKMZ, KZTS, SKMZ, EMSS, HTZ, Kiev aircraft building plant, Zaporozhye transformer plant, etc.

The average pay level is 3000 - 5000 grivna. Possibilities of aggrandizement are opened before each young technician: the chiefs of groups, of offices, of departments, the key specialists, the specialists of the first category. The best graduates will be keeped at the department for the future entrance to the postgraduate course and involvement into scientific and teaching work.

Possibilities of personal training of technician in demands of the enterprises are provided. A striking example of such cooperation is the program «3-2-1» which is carried out by DDMA and NKMZ.

Department maintains relations with such high schools, as: National Technical University of Ukraine «KPI», Kharkov National Technical University "HPI", Dneprodzerzhinsk State Technical University, Donetsk National Technical University, National Mining University (Dnepropetrovsk).

What Work can the Graduate of EAS Department carry out ?

The Information on «Electromechanical Automation Systems» Department Training the Graduates by Speciality «Electromechanical Automation Systems and the Electric Drive»

  • The department trains bachelors, specialists and masters, gives training in general technical and special disciplines: programming, theoretical foundations of electrical engineering, electronics and the microprocessor technics, electromechanics, the electric machineries and devices, the theory of automatic control of electric drives, discrete and neural control systems of electric drives, modelling of electromechanical systems, etc.
  • More than 70 % of the professors of the department have academic degrees and ranks; the staff of the department works on Ph.D. theses and DPhils.
  • Training carries out in six specialised laboratories and the computer class, equipped with the modern domestic and import equipment (of the firms Siemens, Balluff, ABB, Moeller, Texas Instruments). There is an electrodiagnostics laboratory attached to the department. The branch of the department works under the Novokramatorsk engineering plant.
  • Basic directions of the scientific work of the department:
    • dynamics and diagnostics of complex electromechanical systems;
    • designing of power efficient systems and technologies (energy audit);
    • damping of the elastic vibrations in the electromechanical systems (mechanotronics);
    • designing of the new electromechanical inverters of energy;
    • analytical designing of the optimum regulators of electromechanical systems.

Intelligent decision support systems department

Department «Intellectual systems of taking decisions» (before 2007 «Economic cybernetics») trains specialists in the field of systems analysis and information technologies with profound study of disciplines of economic cycle:

  • bachelors 6.040303 «Systems analysis»;
  • specialists 7.04030302 «Systems and methods of taking decisions ».

Training at the department provides mastering of:

  • scientific methods and approaches to investigation and construction of automated information systems;
  • statistic methods of investigation of processes of technical and social-economic systems;
  • theoretical bases of up-to-date information technologies;
  • high-level methods and systems of programming.

The graduates will be able:

  • to design and handle information systems of automation in the field of economics (accounting and taxes, optimization of financial systems activity, marketing research, etc.);
  • to create mathematical models allowing to carry out analysis and make scientific predictions of activity on the basis of economic and mathematical modeling methods;
  • to develop systems of taking decisions support for industrial enterprises, financial institutions, small businesses, etc.;
  • to use up-to-date programming means in realization of above-mentioned tasks: to work with applications package for scientific computations and simulation, to work out data bases, to use the systems of automatic design.

The staff of the department consists of 13 lecturers including one doctor of sciences and 5 candidates of sciences who give tutorials on simulation of economic and technical systems functioning, automation of processes in economics and engineering, revision and optimization of operation of the existed information systems.

The department is ready to carry out, on self-financial conditions, training and improvement of qualification of enterprise specialists in the following directions:

  • Design and development of automated information systems.
  • Mathematical modeling of processes in technical and economic systems (classic approach).
  • Organization and making of experiment by imitation modeling methods.
  • Use of up-to-date mathematical models and methods for designing systems of taking decision support.

The department ISTD cooperates with town enterprises and has its branches at joint-stock companies «NKMZ», «EМSS».
